Reeher Vista Executive Conference Recap

Reeher had the pleasure of hosting 140 participants representing 60 Reeher Community institutions at its annual Vista Executive Conference held in Minneapolis on September 1st. In addition to a number of best practice break out sessions tailored to both major giving and annual fund strategies, the conference emphasized new and updated data that was captured throughout the year from the Reeher Community. Here are 5 key findings. Participants also enjoyed the opportunity to visit demo stations where we showcased our best practice modules: Donor Discovery, Class Agent, and the new enhancements to Activity Center. We look forward to seeing you at next year's conference!

Recent Product Features and Developments

New Ways to Customize Donor and Dollars Reporting

The Reeher Platform continues to provide the flexibility you need to best manage your advancement goals. Recently we added a new feature that provides more options on how you can report on who counts as a donor and when the donation should be counted. Some common scenarios include accounting for multi-year pledges, multi-donor gifts, and matching gifts. Please read the new feature announcement for more information.

Major Enhancements to Reeher's Activity Center

We are in the process of finalizing the development of a number of major enhancements to its Activity Center best practice module. Activity Center gives your institution the necessary tools to easily enter, track, and manage contact reports, proposals, and tasks all from the Reeher Platform. This single point of access gives gift officers the ability to effectively manage long term gift efforts and enlist team members for help, while giving gift officer mangers the insight to encourage staff productivity and capture prospect history. Some of the new features include:

  • Contact reports have been enhanced for more efficient tracking and review
  • Proposals can now be entered and tracked within the Reeher Platform
  • Emails can be sent to the Reeher Platform that are then automatically converted into the proper contact report fields for accurate and efficient input
  • Related tasks, proposals, and contact reports can be linked to existing reports for a complete picture of the fundraising initiatives with that prospect
  • List or calendar view of the summary of all current and overdue contact reports, proposals, and tasks
Look for a formal product availability announcement later this Fall as well as a Webinar invitation so you can see the new enhancements live. In the meantime, enjoy this introductory video

Social Media Profiles

Reeher will be enriching the Relationship Profile with social media and company information provided by a partner. Upon approval from your organization, every time you view a Relationship Profile you will be able to see links to the constituent's LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook along with job title and corporate information (if available). If you have been collecting profiles, that information will remain available in the same social media section within the Relationship Profile.  We will be sending out more information upon this feature's availability along with directions on how to add this complimentary feature to your subscription.

Employee Spotlight

Reeher is so proud of its employees and their dedication to our customers. With each newsletter, we would like to give you a glimpse into the members of our team.

Meet Mike Russell

Tell us a little about yourself: I like to keep my mind and body active, so when I'm not working with our Reeher customers, you'll generally find me mountain biking or on the water paddling - less so during Minnesota winters. I also enjoy live music, so I always have a concert coming up on the calendar. And, I generally have at least 2 or 3 books partially finished, usually historic non-fiction or some kind of fantasy/science fiction.

What is your role at Reeher? I'm one of the Customer Success Managers at the company. My primary role is to make sure that our customers get the most out of their Platform subscription, and I'm responsible for a portion of our community. On a day-to-day basis, I manage go-lives for some of our new customers, discuss challenges and strategies both with our team and our clients, and help our community leverage the insights we glean from the community's data. It's a great job - I get to talk shop with other fundraisers and leverage my experience to help change the way higher ed approaches fundraising.

When did you join the company? April 2016

What is your previous experience in the higher ed market? After college and law school, I practiced law in downtown Minneapolis for a short period of time before I was introduced to the professional fundraising world. I was a major gift officer at the University of Minnesota for 8 years before working in a planned giving role at a large community foundation prior to joining Reeher.

What do you like the most when working with Reeher customers? I enjoy hearing their stories about working with generous donors who use their philanthropy to improve their institutions and the world.  That's the best part of working in the fundraising profession.

A fun fact about me is... I grew up on a family farm in central Iowa where we grew corn and soybeans, in addition to raising pigs and cattle.

Additional Training Opportunities
